Delicious dinner! Real hot plate served!

The sushi here was very good. The pokeball with salmon was really fantastic slightly on the spicy side but very filling delicious. The Anchorage roll was really excellent I would highly recommend it to anybody that comes here.

The waitress was extremely rude and unfriendly, she didn't even greet us when we came in. There was also mold on the vegetables in my ramen , when I brought this up to her she tried to argue that it wasn't mold but I know what mold looks, smells, and tastes like. They refused to give us a refund and we were still charged for a nasty moldy bowl of ramen. Avoid this place at all costs if you care about your health!

Not many veggie dishes. The staff do not accept any substitutions what so ever. The food is OK. I'd suggest that you do not eat here unless you have no other options

Objectively the best authentic japanese cuisine in Anchorage. I have frequented here for years trying a variety of different choices on their menu from the ramen, dinner boxes, and chirashi to their rolls, and sukiyaki. Quality and richness in depth has never disappointed. Prices are steep but would argue are worth the quality and service.

It started off well with the king salmon and yellow tail sashimi and the gyozo but then went downhill with the halibut and prawn tempura. The batter was too thick and greasy. Then the king crab speciality roll had v little crab and the deep fried jalapeño roll which was clumsy.

Surly wait staff, pork in the curry rice might as well have been rubber it was so overcooked, edamames were basically raw, and it was double the price of most other places in town. We would have been better getting hot dogs from the stand outside. I will not be returning.

good service. King crab is normal, but sorted shrimp is very delicious.

Food is not good. Service fee automatically added for only 2 people. When I asked, they said more people get more automatically charged.

Kumagoro is an excellent sushi restaurant in Anchorage. The menu has a wide range of choices and you can't go wrong with any one.

It was really quiet when we were there. Clean, spacious, friendly staff, great food and I like some of their different dishes. We would eat there again.

We stopped in while we were up for the start of the Iditarod, hoping for some warm ramen to get us back up to temperature. It was close, and open, so we walked. The staff was very nice, and we were seated right away. We ordered two different ramen, and while they came out hot and quickly, they tasted terrible. I avoided the broth [my wife even asked if mine was rancid], and tried the noodles, they were alright, the pork was very overcooked and tough.Its not one star, because there were some other dishes that looked great, and the service was very good.

this place has excellent service and food! i eat here very often, my favorite dish is tempura udon, soft noodles with hot broth with it! shrimp tempura is on point!

The service here is top notch and the food is awesome. I ordered the ramen and I was beyond impressed by the fresh noodles and great flavors. I'll try the sushi on my next visit but I will definitely be back.

The best gyoza. My recommendation is the Kumagoro steak. Just be sure to get the gyoza.

Love the food here. Great taste with fresh crab and fresh salmon. The miso soup and Salmon teriyaki are good too. My kids want to go there everyday during our stay! 😂

I went in for dinner alone. I asked about the salmon and explained of my great experience in the former Kumagoru. The chef yelled and argued with me that it wasn't King salmon and everyone lied. I didnt bother ordering. I'll never go back.

I dined alone. The staff was very pleasant and I enjoyed the food.Everything was perfect. In addition, I forgot my credit card at the restaurant.Even the restaurant was already closed ,the staff waited for me to come back and get my credit card. I was impressed. I recommend this place and I wish the staff and the owners a very propserous and Happy New Year!

This place is great! The sushi was incredible. From top to bottom we had the Caterpillar, Rainbow, Best Friend and Sake Maki (all are missing one piece because we couldn’t wait to try). All were top notch flavor and the pieces were huge. My boyfriend and I shared these four rolls and we were completely satisfied and stuffed. Don’t let the prices of the rolls scare you, our dinner came to a decent price for the amount and quality of food we had!The staff was friendly, in a quiet way. The dining area is large and welcoming to all types of groups. By far the best sushi in Anchorage and among the best we’ve ever had in the USA.

Ramen was very diasappointing!! Broth lacked flavor and was thin. Kimchee needed more fermintation 😐

Great food and the staff were very friendly.

Went around 4 o'clock and the service was nice and quick. Ordered two rolls; one the Crunchy roll the other Philadelphia roll and they were both great. I would consider worth the price for quality of ingredients and taste.

Made a mistake and ordered from them instead of Ichiban. I called to let them know they would not give me my money back or even half a refund. I know they know people got stimulus checks so they are literally being greedy at this point. I made an honest mistake and then offered to pay for at least half my order. I never order from there and probably wont ever again.

We went to Kumagoro for my birthday lunch!! It was awesome. The lobster roll was great and my husband loved the tempura shrimp. Soup was great. And excellent service.

Very tasty and super fast.It was my 2nd time here and it was great both times.

This is probably one of the only places in town you can get shabu shabu, even though it’s a bit pricey it’s worth it for what it is. The fish is also really fresh every time I come here which is great.

I saw some soldiers go in. Thought I would try it. It has sushi if you want. We did not but it has other options. We had the Box with Shrimp 😁 very good !

My husband and I had the Ramen and Girlfriend roll, both were delicious and the service was great. We definitely plan to go back!

Friendly staff and excellent fresh sushi. I think it's one of the best in Downtown west anchorage area. Newly remodeled and it looks more modern and clean Big flat screen TV to see basket ball and sports with beer after work. My daughter loved their food. I never seen her eat so much. I think we will be back soon.

Ordered Teriyaki beef lunch box. Meet was chewy and dry. And not even cut a part. Salad was cut with big pieces. It was hard to use chopsticks.Dressing is the awfully not tasty at all.Low quality food at very high prices. Not even flavor of the real Japanese food. It was much better under old management. Bad, bad place..... Never will come again. And absolutely not recommended.

Living downtown this placebhas become one of my favorite destinations. Since the closures amist 2020 I have been ordering delivery. Pretty quick and no mistakes with delivery service. The service while dining in was always fantastic. All the food is justbas wonderful. I always get a roll or two and enjoy every item I have tried so far. Even the salads are fresh and the dressing is great. Highly recommend.

I had a pickup order. The chicken was over cooked and slightly burnt. I would have liked more curry to come with it. The the portions where small so I don’t feel like I got $18 worth. Not a great first time experience.

Good sushi prepared quickly. Good dessert options. Overall great experience every time I've been there!

Service is terrible and food is just not worth the money, sushi is far too competitive around anchAncho, do yourself a favor and go to any of them. What really dissapointed us, was after looking at the menu and finding our own seat (after standing for a few minutes) the lady hostess maybe manager tried charging us for drinks we didn't want. It's just terrible

I love sushi and it all started a long time ago when I was a little kid trying sushi for the first time at Kumagoro. I went there the other day and the sushi was still so good I was told by my friend that I shouldn't be allowed to eat sushi in public because the face I was making was more suited to the bedroom. This place is constantly a wonderful experience.Ps. Coldest women's bathroom you will ever use, bring your jacket.

UNACCEPTABLE. DO NOT EAT HERE. You will overpay and will get amateur food. Shameful. The worst Japanese restaurant I've ever been to.Overpriced. We're talking $8 for ONE onigiri (rice ball). ~$30 for a dinner setFood Quality was horrid.Their ramen and yakisoba was a joke. Ramen noodles were soft like it's been way overboiled or they were old. I'm saying store bought ramen is better by far!Yakisoba noodles were chopped into little pieces. They should've just made fried rice. I looked at the Yakisoba and it reminded me of the first time I made Yakisoba.The workers were speaking Korean which there is nothing wrong with, but don't think it's authentic food with a name like Kumagoro.Service? The workers were busy setting up the tables for some tour group coming. I asked for extra plates and she acknowledged. No extra plates ever came. No "thank you" when leaving.

Good food, never very busy. Very fresh sushi-very highly recommend!!!

Outstanding job on take out orders, everything was spot on!!! Ramen here is our favorite!
